About This App
The Fabic Behaviour Change App has been designed in accordance to Fabics basic behavioural principles with the aim of supporting people to: "Understand & Change unwanted behaviours used by any person".
What is Fabic?
Fabic is a behaviour specialist centre & we understand that most people use unwanted behaviours at some stage. Fabic further understands that:
1.Unwanted behaviours occur as a result of anxiety.
2.Anxiety can be defined as "not feeling equipped to manage what is in front of you" (Serge Benhayon).
3.We use unwanted behaviours in response to situations in life we do not feel completely equipped to manage - situations for which we do not feel like we have the required skills to respond effectively.
4.Changing behaviour is simply learning and using new behaviours to respond to the parts of life for which we do not feel equipped to respond.
5.Wanted behaviours are skills that must be taught and not expected. We know that children need to be taught to read or ride a bike, teenagers need to be taught to drive a car and adults need to be taught the skills required for a new job. Learning new behaviour is simply about learning new skills (i.e., wanted behaviours) to respond to a situation in life for which we do not feel like we have the skills to manage.
6.When the new skills we have learnt are used, we will feel equipped to respond to the part of life we previously found challenging; this means there is no need for the unwanted behaviour to be used as we now have new wanted behaviours to use.
Prior to teaching new behaviours we must first understand that behaviour is NOT who we are but what we do! All unwanted behaviours are being used by people who, at the core of their being, are amazing beings!
However, we all have circumstances presented in our lives, situations that often hurt, that we do not feel equipped to manage. It is in response to these situations that we use behaviours that do not leave ourselves or other people feeling the amazingness that we naturally are.
Our behaviours are not who we are! Behaviour is what we do and behaviour can be changed if taught how!
